Why We Chose The ThirtyTwo Lashed Lace: They’re about as iconic as snowboard boots are gonna get, and for good reason.

One size will never fit all when it comes to snowboard boots — obviously — but there are boots that appeal to a super wide range of riders. The ThirtyTwo Lashed are one such example. They’ve been around longer than most of us and over the years they’ve curated a reputation as the go-to model for riders looking for a versatile boot that’s core as hell.

“To be honest, there aren’t many riders who won’t get on with a pair of Lashed”

There’s a bunch of different models of the Lashed kicking around this season- traditional lace, dual boa, even snazzy premium editions, but for us it’s the OG lace up that has a special place in our hearts.

Who Is The ThirtyTwo Lashed Lace For?

To be honest, there aren’t many riders who won’t get on with a pair of Lashed. Middle of the road flex, medium fit and, yes, we know that style isn’t the most important thing, but with 6 colourways to choose from everyone can find a favourite.

As we mentioned earlier, it’s the OG lace up that really floats our fancy, sure, laces might take a little longer than BOA, but there’s nothing quite like it for reliability and fit. But, if the thought of laces fills you with existential dread then no worries, the Lashed Dual Boa ticks all the same boxes.

The Lashed are the type of boot to be thrown around in any conditions, and to ensure they keep the same ol’ faithful flex. ThirtyTwo use a semi-articulated cuff to alleviate shell distortion in the ankle.

You can get to grips with the upgraded Performance Rubber Outsole for some extra traction when you’re hitting those iconic ThirtyTwo one footers. The sole is also packed with super cushy EVA foam to take some of the slap out of big landings and absorb chatter as you’re charging.

“Like most boots, the liner is where the magic really happens”

Like most boots, the liner is where the magic really happens. The most important part of a boot, because ultimately it is the deciding factor on whether or not it fits you properly. ThirtyTwo have kitted out their most famous boot with their heat moldable Team Liner. It’s not the most fancy in their arsenal, but rest assured it’ll get the job done.

This is secured in the boot with an independent liner lacing system, and a velcro strap to secure it round your shin. One thing ThirtyTwo does very well is their heel hold system, they offer each boot with a pack of what are essentially foam donuts, if you feel your heel start to slip in the boot, simply pack out the liner pockets with these donuts to keep your heel in place. Volia, problem solved. It’s an easy fix, but one that a lot of companies neglect to include.

“There are also women’s specific and grom versions of the Lashed, so you can kit out the whole family”

Any brand that has both Scott Stevens and Jeremy Jones (big mountain, not jib) on their team has to be able to cater to the whole spectrum of snowboarding. And while they do have products that are very specific and aimed at a certain area, the Lashed is their middle of the road, one boot to rule them all.

There are also women’s specific and grom versions of the Lashed, so you can kit out the whole family.

  • The super versatile flex pattern pays dividends across a huge range of terrain and conditions
  • They’re repping the tried and true OG lace
