Why we chose the Rome Inferno Snowboard Boots: A dual Boa for the price of one.

Grab any snowboard boot down off the top shelf and they’ll boast a list of features including crampon compatible Vibram soles, removable flexplates, and heat mouldable liners that conform to forensic level of detail. The Rome Inferno is the no-nonsense solution for riders who want comfort, response and a quality fit, without the costly, bulky add-ons. This is stripped back simplicity at its finest.

Stripped back doesn’t need to mean cheap and nasty, of course. Rome have still kept their Double Boa lacing to deliver focused and customised fit between the upper and lower sections of the boots. Where single Boa systems can often create hot spots in one part off the boot and leave you washing about another, the Dual Boa keeps you locked in with all the fine-tuning of a conventional lace-up boot, and the hassle-free fastening of the coils.

Underneath, the Inferno strikes a blend between grip and feel without smacking on a big fat price tag on top of them. Rome’s GripRight Outsole delivers solid traction, whether you’re bootpacking out behind the resort or hiking lines in the park with enough dampening and feel underfoot to feel connected to the board when your riding.

Last year’s new Pro F.I.T liner features again for 2020, and heat moulds around your foot to deliver immediate response and eliminate those pressure points or hollow spots to rub against. The closer the fit, the better the comfort and, ultimately, the less time you spend worrying about heellift and the more time spent squeezing those extra laps on the chairlift out of your day.

“Quality runs deep in the Rome lineup, and they’ve backed these boots up with a two-year manufacturer’s warranty”
