The Details:
Be advised, this one is only available as part of a package deal with the Bataleon Fun.Kink snowboard. However, so good is the deal that the two stablemate brands are offering, we expect to see quite a few pairs of these on the mountain in 2016/17.
The footbed on the Switchback Fun.Kink is integrated into the baseplate. This means less bulk, more boardfeel, and no removable pads to worry about – just screw them on and you’re good to go. The highback is free of forward lean, so those who like to crank the angle should look elsewhere, but others will enjoy its combination of support and flex. Then there’s the straps – a new, lighter toe strap works together with the dual-layer ankle strap that has foam for comfort and rubber for tension.
As with all Switchbacks, it’s fully modular and you can swap out the style of any part you choose. You can even ride without highbacks, which given the surfy all-mountain feel of the Bataleon Fun.Kink, will be worth a try at some point.
You can also change the colourways – however, given that it’s already a perfect match for the topsheet of the board it comes with, you might want to leave it as is…
