The Meridian is the most popular women’s binding that K2 offer, and it’s pretty easy to see why. A true middle of the road binding, it’s a great option for those who want a real Jill of all trades to strap into.

Rather than a traditional baseplate mounting system K2’s Tripod Chassis gives a much looser, surfier feel to your riding. Three spongy pads sit underfoot, in the middle of the heel and one at the big and small toe respectively. These three little guys soften up the feel plus act as shock absorbers and help to dampen vibrations as you’re picking up speed.

“You’ll end up being able to rock a wider stance with less pressure through your knees”

K2 have taken the unnecessary material and padding out of their straps and are left with exactly what you need to buckle in. No more, no less. Cut outs in the straps allow them to conform around your boots with no uncomfortable pressure points.

Canted footbeds let your feet sit in the bindings at a slight angle, helping to align your knees and hips – you’ll end up being able to rock a wider stance with less pressure through your knees.

No one likes a faff, especially not when you’re burning daylight on a pow day, so the Meridian bindings are hot to trot with 100% tool-less adjustment. The straps and buckles are all robust enough to take a beating, so don’t panic if you’re a bit of an aggressive rider.

Tester’s Verdict

Stella PenttiWhitelines

“First thing I noticed when strapping into the K2 Meridian’s was how comfy they were – and to my pleasant surprise, they kept on being comfy throughout the whole day, making my feet cry tears of happiness (whatever that means).

“I reckon what makes these things stand out from your average mid-flex all-rounder is their extremely comfortable highbacks”

Riding felt really effortless while attached to these things. The bindings were responsive and turning felt really easy without having to put too much power into your turns.

I reckon what makes these things stand out from your average mid-flex all-rounder is their extremely comfortable highbacks. If you’re about to do a season somewhere, and know you’re going to end up spending multiple hours a day, multiple days a week, up the mountain, these things might be the ones to invest in.”
