A frequent flyer in the Whitelines 100, Eivy are back once again with the Journey Rib Top. A base layer that deserved our full attention.
Eivy knows the not-so-humble base layer is one of the most important parts of your on-hill wardrobe, and they ain’t pulling any punches here to prove it.

You don’t have to be a snowboarder to appreciate the craftswomanship and functionality on offer here; anyone who’s looking for a high-tech next-to-skin layer will find something to enjoy.

The use of recycled materials and textiles in the Journey Rib Top is a testament to Eivy’s commitment to reducing their environmental footprint so we can all enjoy the natural playgrounds we love for as long as possible.
The crew at Eivy know that life’s a spectrum; some days you’re lounging on the sofa binge-watching reality TV, others you’re on dawn patrol, hitting the skin track for a sunrise splitboard ascent, and the Journey Rib Top is primo for both. The four-way stretch fabric puts comfort at the forefront, and the quick-drying material stops chill from setting in if the fabric gets damp from sweat or a Mother Nature temper tantrum. And let’s not forget that there’s nothing sexier than safety, which is why the fabric is imbued with UPF 50+ sun protection. Tans are great, but burns and sun damage? Not so much.
“Hats off Eivy, you’ve done it again.”
A good first layer fits snug enough to trap a layer of warm air and not let drafty breezes through, but not so tight you’re cutting off circulation. If you’ve worn a base layer under your snowboard gear before, you’ll probably know the struggle of it scrunching up and untucking itself as you’re riding. Eivy use a drop-seat design to offer more length in the rear and stop it from riding up.
The zippered neck allows for some temperature regulation, always a great shout when you’re doing high-to-low exertion activities to allow for more airflow as and when you need it. Thumb loops are one of those features that you don’t realise how much you enjoy until you’re wearing something that doesn’t have them, especially when you’re wearing several layers.

As usual, the crew from Åre have hit the nail on the head with the Journey Rib Top; they’ve taken the concept of a simple base layer and thoughtfully considered each feature, carefully placed every stitch and channelled their years of mountain knowledge into a rider-refined piece that ticks every box. Hats off Eivy, you’ve done it again.
“A base layer that I would wear for more than just activities. It’s very comfortable, fitted but true to size if you want the fitted look. If not, size up. I’m not normally the biggest pink girl, and this hot pink is appealing to all. Perfect piece to go from the mountain to apres in. Don’t want to give this piece back ;)”\
