Whilst most people are freaking out over GDPR day, the 25th of May 2018 is also when Ortovox will start recalling its 3+ transceivers due to a possible fault with the transmit function.
This only potentially affects Ortovox 3+ transceivers (in any colour) running software version 2.1 – no other Ortovox products are being recalled. You can check what software version yours is running by paying attention to the fourth number displayed on its screen when turning it on. If it reads 2.1, you should contact Ortovox via this page from the 25th May to arrange a collection and software update. If it reads 1.1, 2.0 or 2.2 then no further action is required.
Updating the software version to 2.2 will rectify the error.
This is purely a precautionary measure – as far as Ortovox know there have been no accidents caused by the fault, but it’s been discovered by a third party that in rare instances it can cause disruption of the transmitted signal, potentially extending search time.
If you’re still unsure of whether or not your Ortovox product should be recalled they have set up a hotline for all enquires here.
