To be honest, we’ve never seen the need for walkie talkies on anything but the remotest backcountry missions, far away from the nearest mobile mast.
However, there is a subset of riders who do dig being able to check that their friends are buying the right kind of cheese at the supermarket without going to all the bother of pausing the music on their iPhone – I mean oh my gawd, that’s like so much effort – so for them The Airwave was invented.
Essentially, it’s a box that plugs into your existing walkie talkie and syncs to your phone, allowing it to automatically pause music between calls. In even simpler terms, it pauses one communication device in order to allow another communication device to function. You know, just like your iPhone already does with phone calls.
