All female snowboarders know the hassle of finding well-fitting female outerwear for the slopes that’s stylish without being overly girly. While the market is growing, and female voices are being heard by many major snow brands, the ‘shrink it and pink it’ approach is far from extinct. Enter Snooks, the first British outerwear brand dedicated solely to women.
Created by Susie Beere and Sophie Kelly, Snooks works to create rad clothing for female riders and to dispel the myth that women’s apparel is only needed as an add-on to the men’s range. Dedicated solely to women, their mission is simple: provide exceptional outerwear for female snowboarders who know the struggle of finding cool women’s gear, and to stop them from having to shop in the men’s section.

The Union Jacket from Snooks’ 2018 range is made for the mountain. Cut in a classic heritage style, with stylish colour pops, it’s designed with the latest in fabric technology and functionality. This extra long length jacket is made with 10k/10k pigeontech fabric for high-end performance in both waterproofing and breathability, with a plethora of features that have clearly been created by fellow skiers and snowboarders.
The brand’s mission of creating outerwear that female riders really need, in designs that actually want to wear, is demonstrated perfectly in this jacket and the response that it’s received has proved that this is a brand that knows their market. When launching their ‘Projects We Love’ Kickstarter last year they not only funded their whole 2017/18 collections, but also sold all pre-orders of the Union Jacket as they saw it flying off the site.
All of Snook’s products are made in the UK and support local industry and British riders. If you want to support women in the snow industry and show big brands that we’re not happy with being a second thought to their men’s line, Snooks is your kind of brand.
