To those of us in the snowboarding community, Travis Rice is as big as they come. Inspiring us all with his innovative, breathtaking riding and pushing the sport forward with his films and competition creations.

But if we’re wowed by Lord Travis, just what does Joe Public (for whom this vid has been made) make of his recent arrival in the mainstream?

After pronouncing “I definitely don’t consider myself crazy, whatsoever” he precedes to chuckle at how he escaped an avalanche by “leaning in and ducking underneath it,” and then seems to be confused as to why it tripped some people out.

It’s easy for those of us who ride to forget that snowboarding is considered an ‘extreme sport’, and now more than ever as the progression is, as we all know, extraordinary. The footage certainly reminds us (as if we need reminding!) how amazing our “lifestyle” is and leaves us, once again, having to pull our heads out of Rice’s backside!

We wonder what he’s got lined up next and where the sport will be in ten years time? Whatever it is, we’re in exciting times.
