This is an amusing youtube find. We don’t know who Wally is – presumably an inferior American version of The Stig – but he’s got Shaun White in a NASCAR and he’s going hella fast. Note the Mountain Dew-sponsored vehicle and the chat about the Dew Tour: this has been all carefully set up by the fizzy drink PR men, of course, but there’s nothing fake about Shaun’s reaction to a bit of throttle. Nice to see that someone who flies 20 foot out of an icy pipe on a regular basis is still easily terrified, and we love how all pretense of ‘cool’ goes out the window. “Oh dude, the wall!” OK maybe he didn’t actually shit his pants, but we’re pretty sure he did a little wee.
