Back in November we featured the trailer for Moving Forward, a new documentary about the last year in the life of Danny Toumarkine. Now the full movie’s here – and everybody should watch it.
Filmed by his brother Conor, it covers the story of Danny’s near-fatal head injury, and the long and difficult rehabilitation process. Friends, family and peers all give their take on events as the footage lurches from the harrowing (a comatose Danny hooked up to a ventilator) to the heartwarming (the “life-size get-well-soon card”).
Unlike far too many others, Danny’s story has a happy ending. Just take a look at him riding the Northstar park on his first day back in a year – like his bro says, it’s like he hadn’t missed a day.
