http://mpora.com/videos/pT2412RAf While the freestyle world had its attention snagged by the X Games in Aspen last weekend, the world’s best freeriders were getting down to business – and some serious gnarl – in St Moritz, the second stop on the Nissan Freeride World Tour. With the likes of Xavier de le Rue turning up to ride, competition was pretty fierce. Which makes it all the more impressive that the UK’s James Stentiford finished up in fifth! Get in Stenti! Matt Annets took the gold (check out his run above), Mitch Tolderer the silver and Flo Orley the bronze at the comp.
In fact, Stenti would have done even better – most likely ending up on the podium – had he not unluckily bum-checked on the ride out of his run. As Stenti himself put it:
St Moritz is so sick! Rode really good powder even though it hadn’t snowed for nearly three weeks. I came 5th but should have made the podium. I arse-checked just riding out toward the finish line for no real reason. I need an arse reduction!
Still, if the man can get a result like that with a fall, we reckon we’ll see him standing on the podium pretty soon. Hit more to see the results and the second and third place runs.
