http://mpora.com/videos/xbVUtkVZG With his video part done and the pressure off, Jake Blauvelt heads down to Chile for the final episode of Blauvelt’s Backcountry, to finally ride purely for himself. He gets together with Eric Jackson, brother of John and an experienced backcountry shredder in his own right. Young Matt Ladley is along for the ride as well, doing his best to take his pipe skills into the off-piste under the tutelage of the two older riders.
Settle in for the ridiculous, perfectly-shot pow feast that we’ve come to expect from Backcountry, as well as plenty of drama off the hill. There’s illness, sketchy driving, incomprehensible locals, and it’s unlikely any of the riders will use the term ‘safe as houses’ ever again.
As it’s the last episode, there’s a nice recap of all that Jake’s done over the course of the series. It’s certainly been an awesome ride, and hopefully we’ll see him again soon. On this evidence, the camera-loving Eric Jackson’s clearly jonesing for his own show as well. Jackson’s Journeys, anyone?
