For some reason, and in our eyes at least, Austin Smith seems to get a little overlooked on the Nike team. While it could be because he’s such a mellow fellow and other big personalities on the team (we’re looking at you Halldor Helgason) probably prefer being in the limelight, it’s certainly not his riding because the dude’s got some skills in the backcountry. Here’s a really nicely put together part-interview, part-part hybrid thingy with Austin talking about his approach to last season and the struggle with injury. There are some rad little powder slashes and moments in this that will really get you amped for some snow. Did anyone else have to double take that shot of the burning snowmobile at 1:11 – odd how it just totally burns down into nothing right?
