It’s a good time to be a Protest team rider – the Dutch brand has basically said, “just stick a pin anywhere on a map, wherever the best pow is, and we’ll get you there”. Not a bad gig, really.
For Ursina Haller, there’s no place like home; her local resort of Maloja, Switzerland, was getting dumped on more than anywhere else in Europe, and so she grabbed Mirabelle Thovex and jumped on the famous scenic train to Upper Engadin. It was a refreshing change to the halfpipe contest circuit in which both riders regularly appear, and Ursina’s local knowledge – combined with a distinct lack of crowds – ensured that there was no end to the freshies. Awesome stuff.
