We had a quick chat with Alex and Ethan to get their hot take on the trip.
Whitelines: Who was the worst in pouring a beer?
Alex Stewart: Gumby! Nah, i’m just kidding! I think snowboarders are quite good at that skill so I’m not sure i can give you an answer.
Ethan Morgan: As far as i remember i think Dusan was the king of foam.
WL: Why do you ride with Northwave and which boots are you using?
AS: I guess it was time for me to have a change. It was such a long time I had been riding with DC and when the offer from Northwave came along, it was something I couldn’t reject. Being Team Manager and rider is such a different experience, I wanted to try something new, with a brand that is still rider owned and that gives me the creativity to share my ideas and projects. I’ve been using the Prophecy. It’s really really nice! Speed lacing system is epic and it’s easily the most sturdy boot I have ever ridden.
EM: I have been admiring the Northwave team and boots since i was a kid. So i am honoured to be part of this team now. I ride the decade, I like the new flat tounge of them. I like stiff boots and that gives some extra support
WL: Anything specific you’ve been super keen about this season tech wise?
AS: There has been some epic new improvements in the Drake Binding range, the new SuperSport has a pretty nifty new heel strap with pivoting arm that gets the strap out of the way when you strap in which is pretty cosy.
WL: Ethan, we’ve heard you’ve been in Finland, how was that experience? Did you eat that gnarly gross fish thing?
EM: First time to Finland for me, so it was fun to check the vibe out there. No way, I would love to try that gross fish thing! Never even heard about it while i was there. Damn. Next time I will get that shit and puke it straight out again.
Keep your eyes peeled for the 2019/2020 Northwave and Drake offerings, and check out our sneak peek from ISPO.
