With the barrage of edits that hit the web every day, some can fall through the cracks. Even we – professional snowboard nerds – can miss the odd one, so we apologise profusely that this didn’t make it on to our site during the winter.
The reason why we’d come back to this is simple: last week we were lucky enough to see this guy, Matt Chase, shred in the flesh, and it was one of the most impressive things we’ve seen all season.
Whilst what we saw him doing was pretty wild – a huge back 3 to 5050 over a pretty sizable fence at the Windells summer park, you can see it at the end of their session 2 edit here – it pales in comparison with some of the urban feats shown in this video.
That gap to lip that ultimately put a premature end to his season is, well, massive to say the least. So is the cab underflip to boardslide. On concrete. Over a rail.
We were impressed to say the least, even more so when we found out that he wasn’t a visiting pro, instead he was simply a camp coach on his lunch break throwing down. Hard. There’s some lucky kids at Windells this summer getting taught by this guy.
Matt Chase, we salute you.
