Kaitlyn Farrington Relaxing in the BC Backcountry

You may be forgiven for not having heard much about Kaitlyn Farrington before Sochi 2014 – not many people would have put money on the young gun to top the women’s halfpipe podium with such an experienced field to compete with – but after the games there’s been no news of what she’s been up to. Not a peep.

Until now. By the sounds of things she’s been relaxing unwinding from the Olympic stresses in the best way possible: going out and riding some British Colombian powder.

It’s always interesting watching park/pipe rats tackle splitboarding, after all it uses a whole different muscle set compared with sitting on a chairlift in between each run, but what is nice is seeing Kaitlyn tackling it with good humour. After all, most of us have probably put our bindings on backwards/reversed before.

Again, like Sage Kotsenburg she was a great result for what is now arguably snowboarding’s top prize, an Olympic medal. Not only is she rad but has the exact right attitude to show the rest of the world exactly what snowboarding is about.

So yeah, this is a great video to watch. Especially the ‘artistic’ shot where what could be the world’s biggest phallus rises out from behind Kaitlyn and soars into the sky: 0.50 if you’re wondering. Hilarious.
