Lap it up boys, winter’s finally hit and it’s time to get fucking stoked. Bataleon come through with the goods and release a full edit of their Japanese fire ball Toshiki Yamane. He’s shrouded in somewhat of an air of mystery, but his riding speaks volumes and you’ll be unlikely to forget about him now you’ve seen him rip.
“Toshiki understandably dominates in the deep snow, but his explosive style and punk rock attitude seamlessly translate to all aspects of snowboarding”
Growing up riding in Japan, Toshiki understandably dominates in the deep snow, but his explosive style and punk rock attitude seamlessly translate to all other aspects of snowboarding. The backcountry freestyle that’s interspersed is reminiscent of old school Absinthe edits, with Toshiki boosting off of big old cheese wedges built into the open zones. Backed up by some HUGE natural features, street jibs and even a bit of groomed park action Toshiki’s proving that he can do it all. And make it look effortless. It’s not super common these days for a rider to hit the holy trinity in a part that lasts less than three minutes, but Toshiki pulls it off and leaves us wanting more.
