You might not have heard of Toshiki Yamane before this season, but after seeing his latest Bataleon edit, you’re unlikely to forget about him anytime soon. Our curiosity was piqued as soon as this mysterious Japanese rider popped up on our radar. So we decided to make a mini documentary about him to really get to know Toshiki. We gathered up some footage and started speaking to his friends and acquaintances to get the scoop on this elusive Japanese fireball. When Ethan Morgan is one of your biggest fans, you know you gotta be pretty damn good.

Born in Fukuoka, on the Japanese Island of Kyushu, 26 year old Toshiki now spends his winters in Hokkaido or travelling the world to go snowboard. Growing up in Japan explains his dominance in the deeper snow, but Toshiki has spent years riding street and park too. While studying Karate, Toshiki first tried snowboarding aged 13 and instantly fell in love with the freedom and fun that snowboarding offered him. Ditching the dōjō for the delights of sliding sideways, Toshiki has made a name for himself as a force to be reckoned with across all aspects of snowboarding. So much so that Bataleon have offered him limited edition versions of the Global Warmer and The Whatever, both are available via the Bataleon website.
