Charles Bukowski famously said that “style is the answer to everything”. Perhaps, then. he would have enjoyed the Vans Hi Standard Series, landing once again at Cairngorm Mountain this coming weekend.
The format is simple: a big air contest where nothing over a 720 is allowed, so leave the spin-to-win tricks at home. As well as overall prizes, the judges will once again be rewarding standout style wherever they find it. Whether you’re a pre-teen or in your mid-30s, you’ve got the chance of walking away with some cash. Dragon have also stumped up £180 for the day’s best backside 180, while Ride&Slide will be giving away a holiday to the best unsponsored rider.
Last year’s event was one of the absolute highlights of the season, with Danny McCormick taking the win (and the 180 prize) on a calm, bluebird day. Fingers crossed for more of the same this weekend – see you there!
