Freeride World Tour 2022 is in full swing as the action continues in the Pyrenees this week, with the best of the best dropping in at Pic de les Planes (2650m). The second stop in Ordino Arcalìs, Andorra, has just been given Green Light to go ahead this Sunday, 30th of January, at 9.30 AM GMT / 10.30 AM CET.
Stop #1 in Spain saw all four categories won by first-time event winners. The result is a mix of veterans, rookies and wildcards currently atop the ranking. We saw Michael Mawn (USA) standing at the top of the Snowboard Men’s podium for the first time, with defending champ Victor De Le Rue (FRA) placing 5th.

Tour veteran Erika Vikander (USA) grabbed her first event victory in Snowboard Women and we’re stoked to see what kind of run she lays down this time. Núria Castán Barón (ESP) also made a triumphant return to competition, competing in Baqueira Beret as an event Wildcard and placing 2nd in the event.
New for this year, FTW introduced a new scoring system, making the first three stops even more crucial for the riders. At the first three events, Baqueira Beret, Ordino-Arcalis and Kicking Horse, 10,000 points are up for grabs for the winner. After the third event, there will be a cut-off and only the top 5 male snowboarders and top 4 women snowboarders will continue to the final two stops in Fieberbrunn and Verbier.
The running order for Sunday:
1. Ski Men
2. Ski Women
3. Snowboard Men
4. Snowboard Woman
