Great news for The British Championships, which in recent years has struggled to retain sponsors and the top level of UK riders: the 26th edition of what was once one of the best weeks on snow all year will be returning once again to the slopes of Laax, one of Europe’s top freestyle destinations.
The Palafour in Tignes may be a favourite run of our editor-in-chief, but when compared to the progressive jib piste of Laax’s P60 it’s obvious that when it comes to terrain parks, the Swiss resort wins hands down. With a legendary slopestyle course, world beating halfpipe and more than enough rail features to build the Bangers & Cash jam out of, we think The Brits will find more than enough reasons to keep the champs here for the foreseeable.
Our one concern is that the always astronomical cost of Switzerland will stave off some of the competition, though an invigorating destination and promises of packages that cut the cost of staying in the Rocks Resort by up to half, this might be enough to get people stoked out on one of the key events in the British winter shredule once again.
The British Championships will run from the 3rd to the 10th April 2016, click here for more details.
