[series align=’left’]Thursday evening – and the Brits 2015 are a wrap!
If you didn’t make the trip out this year – tough luck – but you’re not too late to catch a few shots and the full results from the 2015 competition. We’ve had the Route One Bangers and Cash rail jam, Boardercross, Slopestyle and now the Halfpipe to close out the competition, and despite occasional difficulty with weather – it’s been a corker! Further details on the other events can be found through the links to the left.
Back to today, and the expertly crafted twenty-one foot pipe provided plenty to work with for the riders in the morning heat. Two qualifying rounds went down in the sunshine, cutting the field down from 42 to eighteen, with a exceptional selection of age-group riders even managing to graduate to the Open finals.
For the men – Lewis Courtier-Jones smashed his way into the top spot with unrivalled amplitude throughout the course, throwing a huge crippler on the first hit with the extra hang-time. He was joined on the podium by Henry Shackleton who took the slopestyle title too yesterday. Jamie Trinder featured in his third podium of the week today too – with plenty of the technicality that we’ve come to expect from the Scottish all-rounder.
For the Women Maisie Hill succeeded in standing out from the pack as a clear winner – with stylish airs and amplitude throughout. Full podium spots and more shots can be found below.
