Drake snowboards have announced that they’ve promoted Seb Kern to the ranks of their international team. The move means that the UK pro is on the same level as superstars like Risto Mattila, DCP and Matt Beardmore – all of whom ride for either Drake Boards, bindings or Northwave Boots.
Seb, who was only recently appointed UK team manager for Drake Snowboards, is obviously seriously stoked to have been moved up to the upper echelons of the company’s pro structure.
He emailed us to say: “I’m stoked to be part of an amazing team and really looking forward to getting back on my board and having an awesome winter!”
Despite having spent much of their riding careers in North America, Seb and his brother Nate have long been fixtures on the UK scene, featuring in several of the Lockdown Projects films and generally rinsing out at the British Championships.
Drake certainly seem stoked to have him onboard. Lookin’ at the video below and it’s not hard to see why. In a statement on their website, the company said: “Seb has been riding for Drake for many years now and has already featured in international team videos and magazine coverage.”
Seb’s main sponsors are now include: DC Boots, Outerwear and Apparel, Drake Boards and Bindings, Smith Europe, Transform Gloves Europe, Meglad Hats USA & D3o UK.
