Buyers Guide 2018/19

Buyers Guide 2018/19

The biggest & most in-depth gear guide in snowboarding

Last winter, we visited more trade shows and demo events than ever before. Our mission? To get our hands on the latest snowboard kit and put it through its paces with the help of the Whitelines Test Team.

“There are more than 500 products here, each with an honest appraisal of its strengths and weaknesses”

We take our reviews seriously, which is why this gear guide is more in depth than anything else on the market. There are more than 500 products here, each with an honest appraisal of its strengths and weaknesses. From snowboards to socks, we’ve covered it all.

If you’re new to snowboarding then our Workshop section is full of video explainers on the gear you’ll need and how to choose it. For those of you looking to cut to the chase and check out the best, The Whitelines 100 represents our favourite releases of the year – lovingly reviewed in even greater detail.

Enjoy.

We’ve selected 100 of our favourite snowboard products of the year.

Snowboards

Our experienced Test Team has thoroughly reviewed every snowboard in this guide. Whether you’re purchasing your first deck, looking for a funky new powder shape or hitting up the park, you’ll find everything you need to know right here.

Bindings

Bindings are getting lighter and more technical than ever before. We put the latest models through their paces to separate the truth from the hype.

Boots

Boots are the most important purchase you can make. Freeriders will need something stiffer and more responsive; rail rats will prioritise flex; but whatever your riding style, comfort is key. We cast our eye over the best of this year’s footwear.

Apparel

Got the basics ticked off? Then it’s time to round out your kit bag. Our Test Team have tried out all the latest goggles in a variety of conditions to bring you their unbiased verdict. Plus we’ve reviewed a solid selection of helmets, gloves and mitts.

Outerwear

Keeping up with the latest snowboard fashion can be a tricky business, but we’ve pulled out a great selection of jackets and pants that are bang on trend for winter 2018/19. Technical shells, insulated outerwear and casual park threads have all been given the once over.

Accessories.

There’s a vast amount of accessories with which to pair your chosen set-up. Backcountry riders will want to know which avalanche kit they can rely on; other purchases might be less life or death – like a fresh pair of socks! Whatever extras you’re after, you’ll find them in here.
