The first leg of our Whitelines November Knockout tour in partnership with iON went down in the UK’s original real-snow sliding facility, Tamworth SnowDome this Saturday. The setup was ridiculously fun, loads of people turned up to ride and everyone had a blast. The brand new Shred Collective wally down flat down rail was put to use for the first time and definitely helped to separate the men from the boys. The thing is seriously sizeable and definitely not one for the faint hearted:
After the laid back open jam session, 4 female riders and 8 male riders battled it out for a share of the £600 prize purse and 4 iON HD action cameras in the tournament-style knockout stages. After a pair of hotly contended finals, Becky Menday ended up taking the top spot in the girls, closely followed by Rio Peterson, while Ollie Dutton, Andy Nudds and Will Smith walked away with first, second and third place respectively in the men’s category. Ronnie Organ won a Head snowboard as the best unsponsored rider of the night and Si Foster also walked away with an iON camera for landing the best trick in the iON challenge. Keep an eye out for the iON camera edit and full report from the night to follow shortly.
