Some of the best female snowboarders in the world will be coming to the UK’s Snow-domes next week to teach the local lasses a few freestyle tricks. The sessions, which will be called the Volcom Fridge Fandangos, will take place in Milton Keynes (Thursday October 29th), Braehead (Friday October 30th) and Manchester (Saturday October 31st) and will feature team members Cheryl Maas, Kari Opsal and Sarka Pancochova as coaches.
Kari Opsal has been tearing up the competition circuit for the last couple of years, despite the fact that she is just 18, while the young Czech Sarka Pancochova is currently sitting second in the TTR World Tour rankings. Ms Maas, the Dutch master surely needs no introduction.
With riders as hot as this, the event could be an opportunity for ladies from all over the country to hone their skills – it’s not everyday you see names as big as that gracing our indoor events!
Martin Lisle, events co-ordinator at the Sno Zone Braehead, said: “Over the last few years we’ve seen a huge increase in the number of girls who have been taking up freestyle snowboarding.
“It’s great that local girls will have the opportunity to learn some top tips and tricks from some of the best in the sport.
“We’re expecting a huge turn out for the event and would advise anyone that is interested in attending to book early.”
The events, which are strictly for girls only, will kick off at 7pm, and last until 10 on Thursday and Friday, and will run from 5pm til 11pm on the Saturday.
