Tignes, France will once again host the European Winter X-Games from 16-18 March 2011.
The second-annual international winter action sports competition, Winter X Games Europe Tignes (co-produced by ESPN & Canal+Events), is the European version of ESPN’s Winter X Games and features athletes from across the globe competing for medals and prize money. Over the three-day event, more than 150 world-class athletes will compete in eight disciplines, including Snowboard SuperPipe and Slopestyle for men and women.
WHEN & WHERE:
March 16 – 18, 2011
Tignes Ski & Snowboard Resort
Northern French Alps, Savoie, France
The event will host top shredding athletes from all over the planet, including the bootiful defending women’s slopestyle champ Jenny Jones, Swissman Iouri Podladtchikov, who last year posted the highest scoring pipe run in X-Games history, as well as Ozzie Torah Bright and Frenchman Mathieu Crepel who set the Superpipe on fire with his famous frontside 1260 in Snowboard.
It’s halfpipe and slopestyle on the cards once more and you can be sure of one hell of a show. So if you’re gonna be in that neck of Europe around March 2011, make sure you figure out a way to get your arses there and be part of the fun. If you can’t make it, they will be showing it on Canal + and ESPN, and doubtless streaming it too, and of-course Whitelines will be there to keep tabs on everything that goes down.
