Somewhere between the shops, bars, resort stands and random promo girls that make up last week’s Ski & Snowboard Show, the organisers had managed to squeeze a massive Snowflex hip. Riders were throwing themselves off this beast at regular intervals throughout the week, and on Friday it hosted the British Indoor Invitational Championship.
Ten riders hit the hip initially, but were soon whittled down to a final four, who did battle for the big prize. While the likes of Mike Austin, Billy Morgan and the McCormick brothers were all riding strongly, it was Sparrow Knox, Andy Nudds, Sam Turnbull and young Cody Heirons who impressed the most, making it through to the final. Each rider had two runs, but it only took Sparrow one to stomp a monster backside rodeo that bagged him the Indoor Invitational Championship title and won him a holiday courtesy of PRG Ski. The next Brits events will be the national championships themselves, which take place in Laax from March 18th – 25th next year. Check the Brits Facebook Page or their website for full details.
