Word has reached Whitelines that Ryanair has recently announced increases in the amounts they charge passengers for checking in board bags.
It will now cost snowboarders £40 to carry their boards on Ryanair flights if they book online, and £50 if they book them in at the airport. Previously the charge for online booking was £30.
Ryanair’s price hike follows changes to several other airlines’ baggage handling rules, including British Airways, which previously considered board bags as part of a passenger’s normal baggage allowance.
While none of this need make a massive difference to the cost of going on holiday, Whitelines reckons it would be well worth checking which baggage restrictions apply well in advance so that you don’t end up getting stung for a massive amount at the airport.
Either that or take the train of course…
