Louie Vito, Scotty Lago and Iouri Podladtchikov preemptively put their money where there mouths are and got it done when it mattered in today’s Superpipe eliminations.
The two Yanks put on a solid performance with Louie stomping his staple run including three double cork variations and his first run score of 90.66 sticking like shit to a blanket at the top of the scoreboard throughout the elimination stages. Scotty Lago’s first run, complete with his epic rocket air and truckdriver grabs, was also a corker.
Iouri Podladtchikov, tipped by many to take the gold medal in tomorrow’s finals took a tumble after the first hit in his first run but in true Swiss style (or should that be Russian?) managed to land his second one clean to finish up in third place.
It’s definitely gonna be a battle between these three in tomorrow’s finals and in our eyes, any one of ’em could clench it in the absence of Shaun and Ayumu.
