The K-park in Kuehtai and Nordpark in Innsbruck are both ready to host the Swatch TTR 3-Star Austrian Masters, which will kick off from 29th February until the 2nd March. As the final event of the 12-stop Austrian Cup Tour, the Austrian Masters will determine the 2008 Cup Champion, with 550 TTR Ranking Points and a 10,000 Euro prize purse up for grabs.
In the men’s category, local rider and current TTR World No.76 Patrik Huber will attempt to defend his title after winning the Austrian Masters back in 2007, as a number of rookies such as Simon Pircher, Marvin Salmina and Roland Scharmer prepare themselves to compete. The slopestyle competition takes place on Friday the February 29th, with the Halfpipe event, a format open to anyone who wishes to ride, taking place on March 2nd. The winner of the Austrian Masters 2008 will also receive a wildcard for the Swatch TTR 5-Star Aesthetiker Waengl Taengl 08.
A good group of female riders are also ready to shred in Austria, including German riders Silvia Schlereth and Conny Bleicher, who currently sit at No.12 and No.27 respectively on the current TTR World rankings. Local rider Julia Baumgartner currently sits at TTR World No.19 and will be looking to boost her TTR ranking with a home win at the Austrian Masters.
