Word has reached Whitelines that Burton are planning something slightly unusual for the European leg of their Global Open Series this winter. The competition, which will take place in Laax, Switzerland between 9th – 16th January 2010, is being themed around the idea of a circus. We’re unsure whether this means that the honchos at Burton HQ have been listening to too much Britney Spears… but you can guarantee that their competition will be more banging than her recent tour.
It will be the standard six-star TTR shenanigans, with men’s and women’s slopestyle and pipe comps that allow amateurs to take on the best in the world. Whether or not you agree with the choice of theme, the pipe comp especially will be one to watch, as it will be the last major European contest before the Vancouver Winter Olympics.
