Sven Thorgren spent most of this winter presenting himself as one of the most progressive and creative slopestyle riders on the various circuits, but even with tricks like his signature cab 1260 roastbeef-nosegrab down on lock he hasn’t quite topped any major podiums.
But when presented with what was undoubtedly the finest piece of snowpark craftsmanship this year – the Nine Knights snow castle in Livigno – it shouldn’t have come as any surprise that he ended up as both the judges’ and riders’ choice, winning both the big air comp and ‘Ruler of the Week’.
Feast your eyes on his biggest hammers from the balustrades including a huge switch bs method, crazy spins and redirects straight out of a Tony Hawk game, along with a monster backside tailgrab from the ludicrously un-sponsored Peetu Piiroinen.
