Kimmy Fasani plays the comeback kid in the latest Burton Presents… telling the tale of her return to snowboarding after chipping her pelvis and severing the ligaments in her knee in an accident in December 2012.
No doubt the climbing, cycling and gym time have had a big impact for Kimmy – and with aspirations as high as that final back three, they’re sure to pay dividends going forward!
It’s an injury that’s changed her outlook on snowboarding – and the once Olympic-slopestyle-aspiring double-backflipper has emerged from the flames with focus that has swung further towards the powder end of her skill-set – and definitely shows the power of a positive outlook, and a strong rehab mentality!
While it’s clearly a journey that’s still in progress – this snapshot footage of Kimmy is more than impressive. Building things back up from powder turns to big rodeos and butters, with equally strong hard charging lines to boot! From Japan to Whistler, it’s well rounded and measured – without pulling any punches when it comes to intensity.
It goes without saying that we’re not all inclined towards conditioning our bodies when the snow levels drop – but if you ever needed confirmation that extra activities help, here it is.
