“Cheerleaders, dirt bikes, drifting, tons of money, wheelies, street bikes, 40oz bottles, fireworks, skate boarding (sic), BMX bikes… When coming up with the first official music video of the DEATHPOP EP for the song STFU, that is what I wrote down, and that is what I did.”
And thus the music video containing the worst use of action sports ever was born.
With a troll doll wearing Fred Durst’s wardrobe front man and a guest vocalist in her late twenties singing about how much she hates school, it was hard to pick our favourite moment in this homage to every terrible cliche about action sports and ‘yoof’ culture. Actually, no it wasn’t – the bit where KIDFORCE runs over his own money whilst singing “Moneys all I want, cash is all I need… so I can spend it all on bottles and weed.”
You do have to hand it to the team behind this though – they’ve managed the seemingly impossible task of giving every Jihadist the perfect excuse for blowing the West to bits, whilst at the same time making even the very worst Californian teen wince in embarrassment.
Gives you hope for the future doesn’t it?
Challenge: if a reader can produce a music which features more tired, tedious stereotypes than this – ‘naughty’ cheerleaders, middle fingers and suggestive use of childrens frozen snacks – we’ll ask for the internet to be turned off. Because it really feels like its had its time.
Hate my fucking job,
Hate this stupid school.
Hate the fucking cops,
Tell me what to do.
It’s hardly Cobain is it?
