It’s been a pretty bloomin’ successful year for the GB Freestyle Snowboard Team. Under the guidance of head coach Hamish McKnight and with a generous helping of British determination and grit, there have been more than a few high points this season.
Billy Morgan landed his second triple cork and is currently sitting second in the world in the overall FIS World Ranking slopestyle list; Jamie Nicholls got 5th place in the prestigious Burton US Open – a feat that that no other British male has managed thus far; Jenny Jones has already done enough to qualify for Sochi; Rowan Coultas has been killing it on the World Rookie Tour; Aimee Fuller became the first woman to land a slopestyle double cork in competition, Ben Kilner has posted solid results all season and youngbucks Matt McCormick and Katie Ormerod both stomped their own doubles.
It’s a long list that only scratches the surface of everything the team have achieved this year and this podcast pulls together some of the best bits of footage that were shot along the way.
With less than 10 months to go until the winter Olympics in Sochi, it’s gearing up to be an incredibly exciting time for the riders, the supporters and of course, all of us here at Whitelines. As always, expectations are high, but then so is the level of talent in the team, and we’re confident our guys and gals are gonna smash it!
