When a huge pow dump cancelled the first day of the Roxy Chicken Jam at Mammoth Mountain, Jenny Jones and Aimee Fuller ventured into the woods for an impromptu kicker session.With the snow continuing to fall, the organisers realised that the planned slopestyle wasn’t going to happen. Instead, a ‘Powder Jam’ filming comp was hastily arranged, and the highlights are now online.

Riders were split into random teams of three, given a couple of GoPros, and told to head out in search of the best footage. Cue plenty of slashes, flips, drops and butters, as the girls made the best of some seriously sketchy conditions.

The judging panel, which included the legendary Jeff Brushie, gave the gold to the team of Ty Walker, Erin Comstock and Kimmy Fasani. There was also a prize for funniest footage, which was snapped up by Roxy golden girl Torah Bright‘s team.

Looks like this was way more fun than any slopestyle. Why aren’t there more unconventional comps like this?
