If the Salomon Huck Knife is a hotplated sirloin steak, the Huck Knife Pro is a lavishly succulent rib eye, it’s way juicer, more flavoursome, and yeah okay, a bit pricier. They’re both cut from the same cloth, but there’s no denying that the Pro version is lighter, faster, stronger and just plain sexier than its little brother. Salomon have gone all out and armed this beast with all of it’s top of the range technologies, this is a freestyle snowboard on steroids.
Salomon have upgraded the Huck Knife Pro to their lightweight Ghost Green Core with their Popster Booster technology. Milling the thickness to match the response needed from each area down the board and placing carbon stringers out from the inserts to the nose and tail to maximise the pop in your ollie’s / nollie’s and combo tricks in the park.
“carbon stringers out from the inserts to the nose and tail to maximise the pop in your ollie’s / nollie’s and combo tricks in the park”
When March finally hits and you can start hotlapping in a t-shirt the Sintered EG base will keep your base running like lightning during those spring sessions as well as being super durable for hit after hit on park features.
Mid density biax glass and more reactive triax laminates give a long lasting and responsive ride, with Damplifier Lite soaking up chatter from rutted terrain and heavy landings. Slingshot Sidewalls lay two long strips of carbon down the sidecut between the inserts on either edge to give some extra reactivity from underfoot.
“This is for riders who won’t compromise on quality, who know exactly what they want from their snowboard”
The Quad Camber profile has early rocker in the contact points, a more aggressive camber underfoot and a mellow camber between the feet. This gives the board a more stable ride, with precision where you need it. Similar to the Huck Knife, de-tuned edges make for an enjoyable catch-free ride on the rails.
Okay, so the price tag is a bit less wallet friendly than the Huck Knife but you’re getting way more power and precision for your pennies. This is for riders who won’t compromise on quality, who know exactly what they want from their snowboard. The Huck Knife Pro is looking for a rider keen to step up to the next level on bigger features and better tricks. Are you up for the challenge?
