Like with many other snowboard brands, Roxy are also embarking on a progressive journeys towards sustainability. The Roxy Shelter Jacket is a fine example of what Roxy’s 2020/21 line is all about, boasting a more sustainable approach to manufacturing and a snazzy design.
For winter 2021, each Roxy Snow Jacket features a sustainable element. For the Shelter Jacket, Roxy’s used their Warmflight Eco insulation to keep you warm, meaning you’ll basically be wrapped in a bunch of single-use plastic bottles (in a good way). All jokes aside, this is a price that needs to be paid if we want to keep snowboarding in the future.

Roxy’s own HydroSmart Technology can also be found in the collar of the Shelter Jacket. The HydroSmart Technology is a 100% natural and non-toxic fabric that keeps your skin from dehydrating whilst also making sure not to irritate it.
How does it work then? Well, micro-capsules have been added to the fabrics and, when exposed to everyday friction, they burst; releasing the benefits directly to the skin. The capsules are filled with a calendula extract combined with pomegranate oil, some shea butter, and sunflower seed oil. Sounds like a mad idea this but we like it. Although, that being said, obviously if you’ve got some very specific allergies this product might not be for you.
On top of the sustainable insulation and skin-care tech, the jacket is also doing a good job in keeping you dry and comfy thanks to the 10K/10K waterproof/breathability rating. A 10K rating, if you were wondering, is more than enough to keep you dry within the limits of the resort. It means the jacket has more than enough about it to handle the occasional powder line in between the pistes.
There’s a side entry zipper here, making it easier to get in and out of the jacket. One final thing, if you aren’t a massive fan of the faux fur at the hood but are otherwise loving the look of the jacket you’ll be pleased to hear that the fur is removable.
