Family-owned Australian ROJO has come a long way from when they first started out making headbands and beanies in 1987. Even back then though, their hand-painted designs were what stood out and they’ve done a great job in transferring their original trademark design onto their outerwear.
New for this season, is the ROJO Aiden Jacket. Referring to ROJO’s own marketing line, their products are ‘designed for women by women’ – something both reflected by the Aiden jacket and throughout their whole 20/21 ‘As You Are’ line.
“Doing their part for mother nature, 60% of the polyester used in the jacket’s production is recycled from PET bottles”
Doing their part for mother nature, 60% of the polyester used in the jacket’s production is recycled from PET bottles. For every single yard of recycled polyester fabric that is created to produce this jacket, 9-10 single-use PET bottles will avoid ending up in the landfill. To put this into perspective, you’ll need about 3 yards of polyester to produce a long snowboard jacket, so by purchasing this jacket, you can save up to almost 30 single-use PET bottles from ending up in the landfill.
In general, a very good 20K waterproofing means that a jacket is considered highly waterproofed. That doesn’t mean that you should take a shower while wearing it, but it won’t crack under heavy wet snowfall (ideal when you’re on a mountain in winter). Adding to this product’s waterproofness is the DWR (durable water repellent) that’s coating the ‘face fabric.
Designed for resort riding, the Aiden jacket has a good amount of insulation added to it which will keep you from freezing your bum off when sat in the chairlift. The longer fit is also a welcome plus point when temperatures drop below zero. Despite being heavily insulated, the 15K breathability rating of this jacket means that the moisture created when sweating is to a large extent able to escape – something that will stop you feeling cold and uncomfortable in the long run.
With a timeless design and mellow colourways, ROJO has produced an excellent snowboard jacket for the female riders.
