The Indy is a prime example of the kind of ‘bang for your buck’ that K2 base themselves on. Not content with just producing top quality products, they also want to do it for an affordable price.

A slightly softer flex will allow you to tweak and press all through the day or if you’re just a more mellow rider who’s more into loose riding than bite the bullet mach 10 black runs.

“Asymmetric cut outs in the high back accommodate lateral flex without sacrificing toe to heel response”

The straps are built for comfort, with the ankle strap being ergonomically designed and featuring multiple layers of padding. The toe strap is lightweight and extra flexible, so you can cruise long hours without feeling like you’re wearing concrete shoes.

Asymmetric cut outs in the high back accommodate lateral flex without sacrificing toe to heel response. So, you’ll get a more playful ride while still being able to shift edge to edge at a decent pace.

When our feet sit flat into bindings, we’re not in a position to effectively utilise our whole leg to generate power and pop. K2 use three degrees of canting in their footbeds, so your feet sit in a little off kilter to maximise your legs natural potential. A solid all mountain choice for a newer rider, or for those looking to spare their wallet a beating.

Tester’s Verdict

Rob McCreathWhitelines

“A bit like the grab, the Indy isn’t the most technical or stylish one out there but it’s a great starting point with enough ways to make it your own.

It’s a pretty clean and simple look from K2, but the components are still well made and functional. The asymmetric highback was the highlight for me. There’s more empty space than there is material, but it still offered some response from edge to edge – ideal for someone who’s just getting started out with their snowboarding and won’t want anything too demanding. There was so much lateral flex in them too that rail and park riders on a budget might also find something to their liking here.

“The 3° of canting in the footbeds was definitely noticeable. I rode these towards the end of the day and they helped with tired legs. For beginner riders, struggling to effectively pressure the whole edge and who want to feel confident engaging a new turn, this will massively help bring your progression along”

As you’d expect, the straps were simple and comfortable enough while not offering anything out of the ordinary for this kind of price. Tool-free adjustment is a bonus, for sure, but the toe straps didn’t leave me with a huge amount of trust in their strength or grip.
