Art, like many things, is subjective but there is a definite consensus that the works of Schoph and Danny Larsen are notably special. As well as collectively having more hair than the Hanson Brothers circa 1997, no mean feat in itself, the two riders turned artists have launched their first international co-headline collaboration in Oslo, running until 22nd June. After meeting on the international snowboarding scene, they bonded over a shared love of heavy metal and have forged close personal, and working relationships. Together these powerhouses have spawned some of the raddest collaborations in the game, including their Artist’s Editions from Lobster.
Despite their differing styles- vibrant and explosive stained glass meets dark and atmospheric penmanship, they draw upon similar influences to create work thats comparable in creativity and proficiency. For those who say that snowboarding isn’t intrinsically connected with art, we would disagree. Now, more than ever the two spheres are colliding and events like the Tidal Art Show are gaining in popularity and producing incredible works of art.
“Fine art is that in which the hand, the head, and the heart of man go together.”
John Ruskin, 1859
