Audi Nines first wave Riders List and 3D course set up

The riders list and course set up have been released for the 2019 Audi Nines

The 2019 Audi Nines is creeping up quicker than Jamie Barrow in a skin tight lycra suit. They’ve announced the riders list so far and ohhh boyyyy it’s a biggin’. They’ve secured some of the sports biggest hotshots from around the globe, and it’s set to be a buckwild week, culminating in the public contest day on the 27th April on the Tiefenbach Glacier. Feeling brave? Reckon you’ve got the minerals to give it a whirl? Don’t forget the Wildcard Contest is now live… It’s open to any and all contestants, and all you need to do is stack a 2 minute clip of you going all out in the park for a chance to be selected.

For the first time in the events history, there will be a separate event set up for the ladies, and both contests will run simultaneously in different locations. The ladies head over to Obergurgl-Hochgurgl to their own dedicated and specifically designed course, which was created with input from riders like Spencer O’Brien. Since it’s a girl power course, it would make sense for it to be a womens shaper crew taking on the gargantuan task of building it…Step up the Diamond Girls. Obergurgl is gonna get lit up on the 24th April when the boys come over for a joint night shoot, so pencil that one in ya diaries it’s bound to be a corker.

The women’s course at Obergurgl-Hochgurgl

The women’s course features 2 angled kickers flanking a mahooooosive big air jump and ‘a unique space age jib’- we’re not 100% what that means but we’re pumped to see what these rockets make of it. It’s a stacked roster from the ladies, and there’s still more big names getting confirmed. We can’t wait to see what these world class athletes bring to the table, it’s set to be an absolute bobby dazzler.

The humungous mens course

“The course looks set to blow the froth off a few pints”

The lads have got their set up over at Solden, and their course looks set to blow the froth off a few pints. When you’ve got guys like Terje hitting your course, you’re gonna want to make sure it’s as legendary as he is. Easily one of the most ballsy features in the course is the 10m high ramp, anyone with the stones to hit it will be flung across the insane 32m gap. The rest of the course offers Big Air jumps, transfers, wallrides and some hidden wormhole shortcuts.

  • Sebbe de Buck (BEL)
  • Terje Haakonsen (NOR)
  • Sage Kotsenburg (USA)
  • Clemens Millaeur (AUT)
  • Mons Roisland (NOR)
  • Stale Sandbech (NOR)
  • Sven Thorgren (SWE)
  • Roope Tonteri (FIN)

The rider lists look sizzling hot, and we definitely can’t wait to see what these big dogs manage to pull out the bag over the course of the event. The name of the game is progression, and all the riders will be pushing each other to go bigger and harder over the features and we’re sure to end up with some insanity being laid out over the course.

Keep your eyes peeled for further rider announcements, there’s already a whopping 8 Olympic gold medals, 21 World Championship titles and 123 X Games medals represented, and this is only the first wave… It’s gonna be HUGE.
