After a long dry summer you’d think Eiki and Halldor Helgason were short of fresh movies to stick on their blog, but oh no. This week they’ve delved into the archives to bring us Óreiða (nope, we’ve no idea how to pronounce that either) – their first ever venture onto celluloid from 2003. Back then the brothers were 16 and 12 respectively, which makes some of the riding here all the more impressive. OK, it’s dated a lot and they’re not quite at their X-Games perfect score best yet, but knowing where they are now makes this a fascinating insight into two motivated Icelandic kids who used their remote back yard as a proving ground. Keep an eye out for the ghetto car jibbing between 2 and 3 minutes. In their own words, “the movie involves some triple flips, crazy tweeks, tight stance and some next level technical rail moves. The intro is a little fucked up, but after that the movie is fine.”
