It’s been a great weekend for the Brits! Not only did Katy Ormerod nab 3rd in Women’s Slopestyle at the X Games, but our boys at the FIS World Cup at Seiser Alm did a cracking job.
Second, fourth and seventh in places in men’s slopestyle went to Jamie Nicholls, Billy Morgan and Rowan Coultas respectively – completing a top four of Belgians and Brits, two countries lacking the close proximity to the mountains that much of the competition enjoys.
Jamie’s winning run – complete with dizzying cab 1440 – can be seen above, and if you have a little scroll down, you’ll see Seppe Smits gold medal run that topped the leaderboard at the end of the day; as well as Enni Rukajarvi following up her Laax Open win with another Gold in the women’s slopestyle, where Aimee Fuller also logged a very respectable 5th place.
With Billy, Katie and Aimee confirmed for Innsbruck Air & Style next weekend, as well as the FIS Mammouth Grand Prix starting this week, there’s precious little rest time for these lot before the next events – but we wouldn’t put money against seeing more silverware before the season’s out.
