We’re well into October and the year’s biggest films are finally, mercifully, starting to drop. This weekend, the Shred Film Festival – in association with The Snowboard Asylum – is piling several of the best ones into one massive celebration of the snowboard film.
It all kicks off this Friday 23rd October at the Ace Hotel in Shoreditch, which will host a smattering of UK premieres. Top of the bill is ThirtyTwo’s 2032, featuring the likes of JP Walker and Scott Stevens in the boot brand’s first ever team movie. Videograss’ latest effort Videogracias will be screened too, along with the new Postland Theory film, Off The Cuff. Featuring our own Ollie Dutton and Will Smith alongside Kas Lemmens, Jesse Augustinus, Benny Urban and more, it promises to be a belter.
On Saturday 24th October, the Hoxton Bar & Grill is the place to be. Based on what we’ve seen so far of DCP‘s The Balance and 686’s 686 Seconds, we expect this to be an unmissable night covering everything from pow to urban – with some surf and skate thrown in for good measure.
It’s back to the Ace on Sunday 25th October for the last films of the weekend – and as well as Ero One’s Paradigme and the adidas UK team’s trip to Riksgransen in Midsommar Nights, there’ll be the UK premiere of Absinthe Films’ latest flick, Eversince. If you’ve seen the trailer – or any Absinthe film, for that matter – you’ll know this one will be worth a watch.
