Lauri Heiskari has been filming snowboard parts for the best part of a decade now and this season has showed no signs of letting up. The blonde-haired, baby-faced Finn is still up there as one of the best all-rounders in the game and alongside Heikki Sorsa and Eero Ettala is a force to be reckoned with when it comes to stomping high consequence tricks in the streets, park and pow.
It could just be us but we found this part rather refreshing. The riding is predictably good of course but there’s just something about it that reminded us of some of Lauri’s classic parts – like his part in MDP’s Follow Me Around for example.
Perhaps it’s the commentary opening up the part, or the particularly well-timed ‘lifestyle shots’, but most likely of all it’s that classic Don Henley tune. Cheesy? Most definitely. But in this case, it simply serves to rekindle some of this author’s nostalgia.
That’s what the best parts should be all about these days.
