Well, another epic wrap up video has finally dropped featuring the halfpipe finals in Laax. The 140m pipe became a stage to the top riders in Europe as they threw some interesting shapes off the lip of the pipe.
It was almost a Swiss takeover as 5 of the 6 podiums went to Swiss riders. Iouri Podladtchikov and Ursina Haller took the golds.
It was ladies first as Ursina dropped in on the pipe, ending with her signature front 720, but she was closely followed by fellow Swiss, Verena Rohrer and French rider Lucile Lefevre who took third (and prevented a Swiss takeover!).
For the men, it was I-Pod who dominated the pipe scoring 87.70 overall. But it was Markus Keller everyone was talking about after he vowed not to spin any more than a 7 (a daring decision in the days of triple corks) and he still managed to pull off an alley-oop 5, melon to fakie, haakon flip, backside alley-oop 3, fakie method and a chicken wing 7. Unfortunately Markus didn’t secure a podium finish but he sure made an effort.
Check out this round up video of the day as I-Pod and Ursina take the crowns!
